CVC Capital Partners is heading a $250m investment in Acronis International, the cybersecurity company said.
The investment values Acronis at more than $2.5bn, the Schaffhausen, Switzerland-based company said. Acronis was valued at just over $1bn in a 2019 investment round.
The software maker offers an integrated cybersecurity and data protection system, called Acronis Cyber Protect. The company’s products are offered through 50,000 partner companies and are used by more than 500,000 businesses, the company said.
Acronis was founded and is led by chief executive Serguei Beloussov, a Singapore-based entrepreneur and computer scientist who has formed more than two dozen companies. Among them are virtualisation and automation software maker Parallels Inc. and venture funds Runa Capital, Phystech Ventures and QWave Capital.
